Reckoning

Valeri had been
able to stay off of the radar screen here in his new home. He was
desperately trying to build a legitimate life for himself, but it
was proving far more difficult than he had ever imagined. Having
confronted all kinds of compromising situations as well as people in
his checkered past, every decision now required all of his skill and
intuition to avoid detection and impending disaster. Danger lurking
around every turn, he anxiously peers around corners, trying to
survive this, the ultimate test. It truly was survival of the
fittest. Failure to notice even the slightest detail could result in
a bullet in the back of the head, ending all of his attempts at
legitimacy and the life he had dreamed of.

continued to unravel, they compounded his predicament. It seemed
everytime he helped someone, his generosity developed a voracious

now. The spider of deceit had spun its web, and with each turn, drew

trancended time, retaining thier hold on him as benevolent powers
